2022-05-25
From the perspective of transportation, Yiyang is the gateway of Changsha to the northwestern cities of Hunan because it is on the main rail lines and expressways from Changsha to Changde, Zhangjiajie, and Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture of Tujia and Miao Nationalities.
From the perspective of economic development, Yiyang is one of the cities closest to Changsha among all prefecture cities. On October 24, 2019, Hunan issued the development strategy of building “Greater Changsha City Circle”, facilitating further great development of Yiyang.
Yiyang is abundant in both natural and cultural resources. It is one of the “Most Livable Cities”, “China’s Green Ecology Cities”, “National Great Tourist Cities”, “National Forest Cities” and “National Sanitary Cities”. It is home to the Anhua Ancient Tea-horse Road, Taohuajiang Scenic Area, South Dongting Lake Wetland and Tianyi Muguo Wood Culture Museum. There are three 4A-level scenic areas and seven 3A-level scenic areas in the whole city. It also abounds in freshwater fish, rice, reeds, bamboo, nonferrous metals and dark tea.
