There were 10 gates in the town including Zhengyang Gate, Zhongling Gate, Yuxiu Gate and Yingxiu Gate, 5 streets like Puqing Street, Tongqing Street and Jiqing Street, and 8 lanes such as Lujia Lane, Zhaobi Lane and Daqing Lane. It had such a grand scale that it was known as “Little Nanjing”.
Today, the granite-paved street still remains, which is divided into the upper street and the lower street, with a total length of nearly 1 kilometer and a width of 4.5 meters. It was constructed in the Qing Dynasty, being lined with shops on both sides. In addition, the thousand-year-old historic site “Huilong Gate” with classic beauty, contains the essence of Chang’le culture.
